Why does this happen?

    ERROR:
    We were unable to remove the name server NS4.NAME.COM from domain-name.com. Please try syncing your name servers with the registry and then try again.

    If the domain name is locked, it will need to be unlocked before name servers can be edited.


    But in some of my other domain names, i have them locked yet i can edit the nameservers!

    So, should i unlock the domain name? Is there any potential problem with it?

    I'm with name.com

    not used name.com really other than transferring out. i can't imagine unlocking doing any serious harm, just unlock change, lock again.

    In Name.com, you need to unlock the domain before you change the nameserver records or contact information of the domain. Unlock the domain, change the nameserver records and then lock it again.

    You need to unlock the domain first before editing the name server
