why does the links turns to be .com/component/content/article

    i have a problem that did my head in.. i've setup joomla 1.5.3 and all sections are like this :
    www. sitename .com/component/content/section/#.html

    Also the categories are generated to be like this :

    www. sitename .com/component/content/category/name.html

    why does the section and categories do not take the names i gave them ?????????

    on the other hand i have another site and iam using also joomla 1.5.3 and eveything is going smooth,
    links are going as i name them like :
    com/funny-photos/2-funny-photos/2-funny-pictures-for-cars.htm

    l i compared the htaccess file and there is no difference, the SEO settings are enabled in the both sites .. i feel so puzzeled, pls help

    It looks like a mod-rewrite problem (though I would think you would see it in the htaccess file)

    My two cents, though I don't know enough about joomla to help you further. (I'm a php-nerd and don't believe in using pre-made CMS's :p )

    same htaccess in both there is nothing different even i replaced the htaccess but nothing happened .
