i bought a virtual dedicated server from godaddy.com. so why does my site load so slow? i contacted support and they said there was nothing wrong. but 85 percent of the time it takes like 30 seconds to load. is my site really that popular? i dont think it is. it has used 74gb bandwidth in 2.5 days. is that too much for a virtual dedicated server?
First problem Jake is you're using GoDaddy... Worst company on the face of the earth. If you need direction send me a pm
vps' aren't that great, imo. the control panel alone chews up a chunk of resources and, yeah... goDaddy = bigStink hosting
VPS deals can be tricky. If you happen to know somebody that is part of or runs a legitimate hosting company, you should be able to trust them to give you a fair deal (for example, they're less likely as compared to huge hosting companies to totally overload servers with too many accounts). At least that is my opinion...
Godaddy is not a good host. Your using "74gb bandwidth in 2.5 days"? You'll need at least 1,000 GB Bandwidth per month. What is your URL?
my url is www.turbomax.info sometimes it loads fast but then other times it takes like 30 seconds i dont get it
i'm into social networking...i'm with lunarpages. temple media is a good choice too. westhost and spry /vpslink are cheaper.
I had this problem on a VPS host a while back. They pack a ton of accounts on one server, then the server gets overloaded and everyone's site is slow.
try it from a different computer, it might be your computer. my website is set as my homepage and sometimes when I turn on my computer, nothing loads and I think my websites down, scares the bajesus out of me.
