i bought a virtual dedicated server from godaddy.com. so why does my site load so slow? i contacted support and they said there was nothing wrong. but 85 percent of the time it takes like 30 seconds to load. is my site really that popular? i dont think it is. it has used 74gb bandwidth in 2.5 days. is that too much for a virtual dedicated server?

    vps' aren't that great, imo.
the control panel alone chews up a chunk of resources
and, yeah... goDaddy = bigStink hosting

VPS deals can be tricky. If you happen to know somebody that is part of or runs a legitimate hosting company, you should be able to trust them to give you a fair deal (for example, they're less likely as compared to huge hosting companies to totally overload servers with too many accounts). At least that is my opinion...

Godaddy is not a good host. Your using "74gb bandwidth in 2.5 days"? You'll need at least 1,000 GB Bandwidth per month. What is your URL?

I had this problem on a VPS host a while back. They pack a ton of accounts on one server, then the server gets overloaded and everyone's site is slow.
