Why does my site not have a Page Rank when its listed in DMOZ, got unique content, got a good design, got some good back links, listed in Google directory? Someone please answer why I haven't still got a PR after a year!? The site is - ps3home.co.uk
I checked your site and it has PR0, that means your site has been penalized by some reason, if you are doing white HAT seo techniques and you are not linking to any linkfarm site or malware site, go to http://www.google.com/webmasters and ask for a reconsideration.
I'm seeing a lot of repeat sites like http://7te.org.... over and over and some other sitewides. Everything takes time, we can't tell you why you arn't up in PR that's Google's area. Maybe some of your links are giving you bad rep or not enough PR, who knows. Time will tell and SEO takes a hell of a lot of time. One of my older sites had about 25000 links but yet only maintained a PR2 so as I said who knows.
The website has a year old and google updated its PR like 4 0 5 times per year so it's an penalizaiton, ask for reconsideration.
thanks for replies, I cannot even see why it would be penalised. Im using the link nikomaster sent to google and now im having problem verifying my PS3 site!? my xbox site verified fine :|
You must verify that you are the owner of the website, google has two methods, either they give you a code you must insert as a meta tag in your main page or they give you a file name that you must create and upload it into your server. The file may be empty, no matter is just for verification. Regards.
Thanks for reply. it says: We've detected that your 404 (file not found) error page returns a status of 200 (Success) in the header. Ill get my scripter on to it. But when its done which button do i click to contact them about my PR?
lack of backlinks - although you have the site in DMOZ whats the use?Your link is probably present in a PR0 page.To get a PR better buy site wide links or link exchange.
HI RadulescuRobert I saw your site. you have max link from low google page rank. may b you should some quality relavent links with good pr. I hope it's better for you site.
Holy shit people, if you don't know the answer then don't answer. No Pr0 does not mean your page was penalized. One of my sites was pr0 for 2 years even with 25000 links, now it's pr2. Changes in the PR take time and are random at best. Think of it this way, you make a new site brand new domain and everything. you make 10 links to it, check the PR.... okay good it's 0. Does this mean your site was penalized? Hell no, it just means it either hasn't updated or you don't have enough PR "juice" going to your site. In the OP situation my advice to you is stop caring about PR, if you got good juice coming in then you have nothing to worry about PR. Unless your planning to sell it soon or sell links on it, then just forget about it and check it in a couple months.
Ok, so your site looks pretty good. Couple things I think of just off hand. First, you have 500 backlinks, which is decent. Try to get more. Second, is your content completely unique or are you pulling stuff off other sites? If it's not unique, that could cause issues. Third, you don't allow comments on your posts. Yet each comment looks like a page update to the search engines, so you should consider using comments. Lastly, do you have a sitemap that's notifying search engines every time your site updates? If not, you should get one. Oh yeah, and P.S. Your page has a white bar with PR0, which means you are not penalized. A grey bar with no ranking at all would mean possible penalization or that it's just not indexed. Also looks like your images are not using alt tags. You should fix that too...oh, yeah, and you're not using H1 tag either. Get your onsite SEO going man!
I'm sure you weren't. Your site looks good. You might consider using anchor text for your URL in your signature instead of just the URL.
