Why does msn like my site?

I really can't believe that I am ranked #7 on msn in the very competitve 'photo hosting' search. I am not complaining or anything, I am just surprised that my site ranks so high. I also have decent rankings in my other keywords on msn.

I am still plugging along to get some kind of rankings in google. That will take a lot more work. ;)

What you see in MSN will usually be a sign of things to come on Google... as MSN doesn't filter the age of backlinks like G does.

My traffic is good from msn, but not much from google/yahoo. Do you really think this could be a sign of good things to come on google? I really hope you are right. :)

Be happy that MSN has it's act together and recognizes the good sites when they see it. I'm also trying to rank as high in google as I do in MSN and it just takes alot more work. Maybe their technology is just flawed.

i think of msn as a happy retarded puppy.

it's very quick to notice new links, doesn't give a damn what neighborhood they come from, and the anchor text counts for a lot.

google's differences here are AGE and LOCATION. if you are certain your links all come from reputable sources (not LowCostMedsForLosers.com, etc) then when they age you should see good results in google.

I am happy to say that I have found that to be true. I posted this original thread on 1/27 and as of a few weeks ago I have begun getting some rankings with google. Hopefully, this is just the beginning. :)

I also am very surprised by MSN's rankings of one of my sites. for a very competitive search phrase, download shareware, the site is in position 2  which is very good, but i don't understand how this happened. There are A LOT of older, more powerful sites in this niche, but I've beaten them  how?

anyway, this isn't yet a good source for traffic.... MSN still gives only less then 10% of the traffic... which is bad :(

(also get hi rankings for other keywords, but this is the one with the hardest competition)

I got a fourth ranking for a term that supposedly gets 9000 searches a day and has a KEI of around 5...site has been up probably less than a month. I also notice that MSN has indexed way more pages than Google and Yahoo..with Yahoo only having indexed my frontpage.

I knows its not much...but according to my logs..MSN is giving me wayyy more traffic than the other 2 majors. Still pretty small numbers though off course.

In terms of MSN only having 10% search traffic..i think thats going to change significantly with Vista...

MS will be keen to integrate their search with there new platform as much as they possibly can..and make it so straightforward and intiutive to use MSN Search that youll probably end up doing it by default.

    Do you bet on that?

Put my site on the top of msn for "credit card" and I buy you 100 candies. how about 200?;)
