Why does many ppl write numbers wrong?

    I see many ppl on this forum writing numbers like this:

    1,00,000 = (100.000)

    5,00,000 = (500.000)

    Why is that?

    I believe numbers in the bracket are european format. For instance:
    $1,345.56 is written $1.345,56

    Your format number above on the left I have never seen. For 1,00,000 and/or 5,00,000 did you mean to write 100,000 and/or 500,000???

    2,34,56,789 - > Indo - arabic format.

    23,456,789 -> western

    That's why Americans use "Million" and Indians use "Ten lakhs".

    Western people say Eleven Hundred 11,00

    We Say 1 Lakh 1,00,000
    They Say Hundred thousand 100,000
