I see many ppl on this forum writing numbers like this: 1,00,000 = (100.000) 5,00,000 = (500.000) Why is that?
I believe numbers in the bracket are european format. For instance: $1,345.56 is written $1.345,56 Your format number above on the left I have never seen. For 1,00,000 and/or 5,00,000 did you mean to write 100,000 and/or 500,000???
2,34,56,789 - > Indo - arabic format. ------------- 23,456,789 -> western That's why Americans use "Million" and Indians use "Ten lakhs".
Also We Indians say Thousand Hundred 1,100 Western people say Eleven Hundred 11,00 We Say 1 Lakh 1,00,000 They Say Hundred thousand 100,000
You ask this and not why people choose to use text speak on forums? (people not ppl - sorry, had to say something)
