Whenever I register a domain name with Godaddy.com it only takes about 10 minutes before the domain is available to you. With 1and1 it takes 6 to 12 hours. Why can Godaddy.com do this faster than 1and1?
I don't know what's up with those guys. They didn't bill me for a month last time and then they sent me an invoice with no date or total and a week after that took the money from my paypal. I had funds in the account the whole time so it wasn't that. The invoice included a new discount that wasn't available at the time I bought the domains so that was bonus but their system didn't inspire confidence. I've switched to name.com for now, they seem reputable so far.
This has not been my experience. Although, I have found the results to be inconsistent - sometimes the registration goes through quickly and the new domain is available in 30 minutes or so, sometimes it's longer. With that said, I've been using NameCheap for my latest registrations and have been quite happy with the results. They do cost a bit more though.
coz 1and1 is a host and they make their system / and godaddy.com is a domain registrar so its the difference, and a host can make their own rules about how long they want to provide the domain . if you want to be a domain reseller . i mean buy and sell / then use a domain register like godaddy.com , name.com
1and1 are one of the biggest domain name registrars around... they are slow because 1and1 do everything their "own" way. They are one of the most evil hosts/registrars around.... I have no problem blaming 1and1 for everything thats wrong with the internet.
