Why does it keep increasing?

I am targetting a niche that is about .20 cents for bid. Everyday I check, it's going up by like .05-.10 cents. What is up with that? Is this what getting slapped means?

Click on the little magnifying glass near the keyword and the link below the quality score. It will explain you what is going on.
If the CPC is going up but not the minimum bids, there may be a new competitor.
    Good luck,

It saids "Poor". Sounds bad, what does this mean?

edit: I think that means that my site isn't related to the keyword, but my site is CLEARLY related.

Make sure that all your keywords could be found by google bot on your landing page. Secondly, what is your average CTR? If less then 1.5% start campaign again and delete the old one. Start with a few keywords, the most related and increase CTR ...

2 things can be happening. more and more competitors are joing or your QS is dropping. since you already know that your QS is poor, that explains why your bid cost is going higher. your ad/site being related doesn;t mean your QS will be OK or great. google takes several things into consideration when it comes to QS. how related your ad copy is compared to your KW, how is your ad performing compred to others, whether the keywords you are biding on are present on your site, etc. do some reading on quality score (just search google) and you will have better idea. but expect to pay as much as 3 times more for a KW with poor QS compared to great

CTR is click through rate. CTR=Number of times ad clicked / Number of times ad displayed.

To increase CTR your ad should be attractive and distinguished from your competitors.

Must Know : Ad rank = Min CPC*QS
So higher your QS the better rank you get

    Hi,

I've got the same problem. I started with about 500 keywords, but now 400 of them are inactive.... Is it enough to delete this campaign and start a new one, or should I also create a new Adwords accaunt? I've red somewhere, that all of my campaigns influence each other. Therefore, if I run some bad campaigns, my new ones would automatically start from a bad position. Is it true?

P.S. Sorry for my english :p

If 400 keywords are inactive, try to move them into tighter adgroups and create a landing page for each adgroup.
Don't delete the campaign yet, first try to make it more focused and relevant. Then, if everything fails, start a new one.
Create a new account? Have people gone mad lately?

you will need to analyse your landing page's quality score. i recommend that you create landing pages that showcase an individual product as opposed to just pointing your google ad to your homepage. this will give you a better quality score, drive down your cost per click and increase conversions.

I think you have improperly setup your campaigns which is causing the slap.

Check out the videos in my sig which explains how to correctly setup adwords campaigns.

Number 1 problem I see across the board is people are using /keyword in their display URL which is tied to a 404 error page. Google checks your display URL as well as your destination URL. Improper usage of both will cause a slap.
