I get this .info domain then later I found out that they are more expensive than .com or .net domain. Why it is so expensive but when you sell them they are very cheap.

Is it really more expensive? I usually buy domains at www.godaddy.com, and although they claim that .info is more expensive, they often have year-round specials that make the .info domains cheaper than .com.

There was a wave some time ago of free .info tld offers, I even registered one that was a variation on my .com. There were posts everywhere.

The interface of the company giving them away was horrible so I never used it. Just got a renewal notice for $40/yr.

Luckily, even though they originally asked for a Credit Card (you could cancel the domain at any time of course  ), I got it without giving my details.

Is this what you are talking about?

I got about 100 or so free .info domains from dotster.

I'm pretty sure they're still free but I may be worng.

If they are, make sure you switch off the auto renew feature, otherwise in a years time you could get a fairly large bill for some domains you aren't all that fussed about.

My renewal notices have a renew by date of Oct 1st.

The funny part is the huge "urgent" and "must act now" like it was going to expire tommorow

Im just letting all mine expire.

Yeah, I'll prob do the same unless I actually use any of them.

I doubt I will but It's nice to have some of them.

A couple of them actually aren't all that bad If I remember rightly.

I thought the ones like YESIWANTMORE.INFO were ok (Although not worth a penny) so I got a few of those too...

If you have a lot of them I would throw them in the Buy/Trade/Sell forum just in case one strikes someones fancy.

I have seen a few crappy .info's get snapped up in the last month that surprised me. Granted, it was only $10-$20 but its found money

    Really?

I may give it a go at some point then.

Lots of SEO, Blog, XML and Video production orientated ones in there too so perhaps someone'll be interested. Cheers for the info.
