Hi I am not sure why google only indexes two pages of www.DomainSocial.com. I have hundreds of pages of threads there, and they are not being picked up. I do have a robots.txt file (http://www.domainsocial.com/robots.txt), but google should still be allowed to view the forums (forumdisplay.php) and the theads (showthread.php). It has been weeks now and no results show up on google. Does anyone know why this is? Thanks Zach
I don't think you can put ?parameters in your robots.txt. So I think that showthread.php is being blocked after all. I can't see why forumdisplay.php would be blocked though. Usually "Disallow" is spelt with a capitalised 'D'. Cryo.
Hi Cyro thanks for the reply. I have just used Google webmaster tools to check, and it says that access is allowed to: http://www.domainsocial.com/forumdisplay.php?f=4 http://www.domainsocial.com/showthread.php?t=214 That means that google is allowed to access the threads and the forums. So why isnt it going there? Zach
Other forums which do not use VBSEO still get indexed. Also, according to matt cutts, Google makes no difference between dynamic urls and static ones, so I do not see how the URL rewriting will help (however, I CAN see how it may damage the site by preventing VB upgrades from working properly).
Have you created a google sitemap? This very important and can help a site get its pages indexed fairly fast.
There's no difference, its only that every time I add VBSEO and get a few powerful links, my forums get indexed nicely. And since the URL's are keyword rich, traffic is even nicer. Experience is the best teacher.
No I have not. I am not sure how to go about doing this because my site is a forum, and its dynamic. So new pages are added everyday. If I make a sitemap, I wouldnt want to add in each new thread url manually.. Is there a better way to do this?
