Hey there, quick question: I run a site that has a wordpress blog on the front end and an IPB forum attached to it. I often make blog posts announcing a video clip or image that I or someone else has posted in the forums somewhere. I have been doing it this way under the belief that wordpress was designed to be picked up by spiders better than a blog post with a weird URL. However just recently I posted a video in my forums and then wrote a blog post about the video with a link to it, and the forum post is showing up in google searches for the keyword instead of the wordpress post. What's up with that? My wordpress posts are all indexed in my sitemap while my forum stuff isn't. I was keying the URL of the post to the keyword, included it in the title even. Don't really get why Google's picking up the forum instead...
I have some similar things happening on a couple of my sites. A resource page that out ranks my main domain name. Whereas the links(resource) page has no incoming links and the main page has 40 ibl on "g" and 35,000 on yahoo. Go figure?
