    Hi

In the past i have seen that google keeps on bouncing my rankings from top to bottom or vice versa. Is that normal?

Also if you can please answer the following questions in respect o the search engines.

1)Does the RSS Content is considered as a Duplicate Content. If I have a content on the website and also the same content appears on Salon, Facbook, twitter, or google reader, will it be the duplicate content or not.

2)Some of the other websites also have duplicate content but they still have good rankings. How come?

    3) If I have a unique content on my web pages in the future, how can i save myself from getting my competitors to copy it and how will it effect my website ranking. How will google know that i am the only one who has a unique content and not the other websites who are copying my content.

    4) If i have a duplicate content, shouldn't the google DeIndex my pages. My pages are still indexed.

    5) Does having a similar domain considered as a duplicate too?

I will be glad if you can answer me these questions.
ThankYou once again for answering the last question.

It's usually because you are ranking for a term that might take awhile to rank for, hence you are in a "sandbox" to play with the other little websites until you get more authority / trust and hold steady your position. Also, if you rely on backlinks that are very volatile vs semi-permanent to permanent ones you will experience quick gains and losses in backlinks /serps. Spread the link building, spread the risk.

ThankYou Flight Center for your reply. But How can i Rank suddenly well for all the keywords and then after couple of days the results for the same keywords are gone.
It does not happen for just one page. It happens for all the pages.
One the day 1 i am in the page 2 for a good keyword. On day 7 nowhere near.

Do you think having duplicate content does that too or not?

That is only natural. Google bounces the rankings of one website for many reasons.

Google determines the originality of the content from the time stamp when it indexed the contents. Hence even if your competitor copies your content and publishes it, your content being published first... gets the originality tag.

In my own experiences, it would be safe to don't have duplicate contents on the same domain. Also, keeping your site contents, especially homepage, up to date would be more important than seeking for original contents currently for SEO purpose.

    all the best,
