Why Does Google Index some sites & show their meta description?

    I've been noticing my joomla sites have been indexed and are just showing their meta description as the information bit of the Google search result.

    What does this mean? Is it bad? How can I fix it?

    for my site, i just included:

    <META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="iphone wallpaper,iphone wallpapers,ipod touch wallpaper,ipod touch wallpapers">
    <META NAME="Description" CONTENT="Over 2400+ free high quality wallpapers : Sexy, Abstract, Cars, Nature, Anime, Fantasy, Games, Music, 3D, Animals, Holidays, Fine Art, Movies, Skies, Etc...">

    I've updated the description a few times, and it updates accordingly on Google every week or so... this is how I try to figure out when Google crawls / relists keyword relevance for my site.

    Google will use both meta description and page content for the informational section of the results. Sometimes you will see a combination of both.

    YAY!!! Everyone here wins :)

    This is the standard process for Google.

    Although the technique you are using isnt the best to determine how often they are visiting.

    A nice little trick is to run your robots.txt file as a php script (using ForceType in apache). Then use the script to log to a file every time the "googlebot" user agent checks the file.
