Why does google drop my edited blog postings? Highly Optimized

I'm using wordpress and was wondering if anyone sees this also. Every time I edit a well optimized web page the web page gets dropped. I notice after a few days it may or may not be back in its old spot. Why does this happen? When does your edited blog posts normally get reindexed after editing? Is there anyway to avoid this from happening when editing pages?

maybe you are over optimizing the page..its difficult to judge by that... keep the keyword density within the permissible limits!!

How many times do u re-edit?
See the concept here is very simple buddy,,,,,

Content is the king everyone says but,,,,,,,,,,
But that doesn't mean that u change the content every time,,,,,

    THE REAL FACT:
Googlebot comes to ur page fetches the content and then it indexs. But if u change the content of the page on a regular basis i mean the whole content then the content tat was last crawled won't be there as a result googlebot would just drop it. This has happened in lot of sites who tries to change content on regular basis.

The time frame between indexing must be noted. U must show the content what googlebot had crawled during the last crawl. U can add more content tat's not a problem but don't change the whole content on regular basis.

thanks but it was my first time editing it. It was just a link to another blog post of mine. What do you mean by "U must show the content what google had crawled during the last crawl.? Do you think it will reindex the page within a day or so?

Generally I follow the advice that if a page is ranking well, DO NOT edit it unless its necessary. As it will for sure make you lose rankings on short term. Its a shame that this happen as the more people will know about this, the more they will be afraid to change the content of high ranking pages.

As far you, get some links and relax, it will bounce back. They chances are, it might have started ranking for some other keywords
