Why does Google do this?

I use Gmail, and like many, I always get distracted by the web clips at the top. I always see them putting up "Ask Yahoo" stuff, and I've always wondered about that, because isn't Google in competition with Yahoo? Well, that's not why I'm making this topic. I saw a Sponsored Link that was advertising "AdSense Ready Website". I thought Google was strongly against those kind of things, especially because it makes a lot of duplicate content. I just find it odd.

Anybody have an answer to this?

As somebody on DP already noticed do a search for Therapy products and the results show Yahoo for some whacko reason.

As for the made for adsense site some say Google is against them but others argue they arent as Google still makes money from these sites. I tend to believe they turn a blind eye to most of the Adsense sites, most of all the high earners.

Well business ethics and "corporate business ethics" are two different dogs.

As for your original question.... $$$

It just seems that Google is rich enough, and they have enough other sponsored ads.

"Rich enough" is a phrase that corporate America doesn't know. :)
