Why does Google Chrome Web Developer complain that I the radius property is invalid?

    I am trying to vary the radius of a circle in my Google Maps API3 / jQuery Mobile Application, as shown here.

    However
    , Chrome Web Developer keeps issuing the error "Uncaught Error: Invalid value for property : _" every time I alter my slider. Why?​
