Why does google ban the SITES for adsense

I've read a lot of posts on here about adsense bans and of course seem do seem completely reasonable (people asking for clicks etc), but in some cases why does google take such a hard line with the site and not the person committing the clicks? For instance, couldn't google block the ip adress of the person clicking on ads and also if the ip matches up with an adsense account, also ban the account? It does seem harsh that a site may be banned for something that is sometimes completely out of a site owners control.

Who says Google is doing that? And if they are, that the decision isn't reversed right after a human review?

I'm by no means an expert an adsense but I thought that google hardly ever reversed a decision banning (from what i've read anyway). I'm a beginner in the adsense world but just wondered what peoples opinions were on this. The way it seems is that a lot of sites get banned for click fraud, but many times it is out of the control of the site owner (from what site owners say, although it sometimes looks though the site owner was in the wrong in some cases by asking for clicks etc).

They revert the ban in nearly 100% of the cases where the publisher did not violate the TOS and requested a human review.

I know of one additional person who got reinstated after calling their local media outlet (not my recomendation but it worked)
Most cases where people post "I didn't do anything or my dog pawed the mouse or my grandma was visiting and decided to play whack a mole with my ads!" usually later admit to asking for clicks or clicking themselves either by accident or on purpose

I have a little experience in this area ;)

I have read many articles of sweat-shops all over Asia running businesses with 100's of employees and all they do for 12 hours per day is click adsense on sites. So I am guessing that many of those 'innocent' folks that are getting banned are probably doing something wrong.

I was hyper-paranoid about the adsense ban stick when I first got into the program. Why? Because the forums are chocked full of banned fibbers. People come here and claim they were innocent victims. As YFS1 noted, though, it almost always ends up with a little digging that the people did violate the rules they were accsued of violating.

So no worries, run a straight ship and you have very little to worry about.

Untill you violate TOS, google won't ban you. At times their software does ban you on slightest detection or doubt but human reviews get un banned, provided you are true with TOS.

    I agree with aeiouy's bottomline.

yfs1 is absolutely right, yes people do get their accounts reinstated once it is reviewed by an adsense staff members and the member assures him/her that he won't practice that in future. Clicking on your own ads won't make you a millionaire neither can one get away with it.

If you are not making enough from Adsense, Don't just panic. Think of it as your retirement fund which will help you in the future because Adsense can be an extremely lucrative source of revenue in the long run. Not everyone that is earning $xxxx figures a month had his first pay check of above $100. Concentrate on content and traffic, rest will work like a charm.
