What is Ur take on it?

Who wants to know why God allows suffering?

Curious to see what you were led to believe, what you were taught.

(wars, earthquakes, tsunami, hurricanes, illness, poverty, violence etc)

    thank you for the posts.

Any Bible references to jutify the point would be welcomed ofcourse!

The same reason dragons, little elves, and gobblins don't exist; They only are figments of imaginations started by people with overactive imaginations, or liars, and often lunatics.

Of course he did. God encompasses every thing. You can't just separate the "good" and the "bad", except as an artificial construct called "morality."

But believers have to, because god, to them, represents perfection. And the "bad" can't be present in perfection, so it must come from some source other than god.

Or, also popular, is the, "No one can understand the mind of God, so it's really just good in the grand scheme of things" argument. You know, god works in mysterious ways...

I agree. That's why people form ethical systems and morality, because it's tough to accept an imperfect universe where God would allow babies to die.

Sometimes things that seem evil are later considered good, and vice versa.

Everything happens in this world, it happens because God allows it. We have to respect His will.
If we suffer we do it because we deserve it.

Have you considered that there are many 'gods', and that the one that is ruling us at the moment 'ain't so good'.

True. Although even within the framework of their belief system, wouldn't a simpler explanation be that God creates humans with free will, and humans are responsible for much of the suffering?

Although I guess that doesn't account for acts of nature...

Haha...no, I didn't forget about him. However, since God is omnipotent, then the devil only exists at God's whim. So, he must be doing something that God approves of. :D

There is evil to balance good. There is happiness to balance suffering. Do you realy think people would recognize happiness, good or love if there wasn't any suffering, evil or hate.
