I'm noticing a pretty disturbing trend in this sub-forum. For pretty much all search engine advice, there's multiple posts in every thread, telling the OP they need to head to Google and start disavowing their links. Even without knowing what the OP's site is or who is linking to them. I can't even begin to describe how bad this advice is. Do you guys know what the disavow tool is for? The disavow tool is largely for combating negative seo attacks. Not to go in and tell Google, "Hey, I purchased a ton of links from Fiverr, but now they are getting me in trouble, let's remove them." How often do you think big sites use the disavow tool? I'd imagine very little, if ever. Why? Because even if they start to build up links from "bad neighborhoods," they have and acquire so many legitimate links that it completely negates the affects of these "bad" links or negative seo attacks. Also, do you know what a bad link even is? If you can't answer this question, there's really no reason for you to be using the disavow tool because you'll probably cause your site more harm than help. If you believe your site is being penalized because of your backlink profile, or, you're losing lots of backlinks, the best solution isn't to run to Google and start disavowing your links. The best solution is to work double-time and increase the quality of your link profile with more, highly relevant, contextual backlinks - not go on a disavow spree. Don't know what's in your backlink profile? Head over to this site and have a look: Majestic SEO Backlink Checker I'm not trying to say I'm the SEO god and that I know everything, but I do think people should take more care in suggesting people wreck their backlinks without knowing anything about their site. And, that those seeking advice do a little research before destroying all their backlinks. Good luck all.
Thanks for sharing such a nice post. we use Google disavow tool when we find some broken links or bad links which cause damage to our site and reduce the page rank of our site.
