Why do you worship Google?

I have seen a lot of people obsess with and 'worship' google. I guess it is because google has more than 50% of the search market share, and we all want more traffic, leading to more sales, etc

The reason I started this thread is because I was reading an ebook about SEO a few minutes ago, I spotted an interesting headline, "Don't Worship Google!". A quote from Matt Cutts followed,

“…Yeah, we want to be a reflection of the web. If there are important things
on the web, we want to find them. But if you are trying to push yourself up
into Google first, so that people can find you, you are kind of working
against the grain, you are going up hill… "

Hmm, this is not quite the message I wanted to give, I wanted to say that all you suckers should stop making google look like a god, it's just plain stupid, don't bow down to someone that may soon rule the web [more] and drain all your moniezzz .

Geez, the end.

 

Who says we worship google? I dont!

But yes we all do use it, and make money with it!

 

I wasn't reffering to everyone in this forum of course, but there are people that do

 

Its just such a useful tool... And the money...

 

I don't worship Google though Google to me is very useful compared to Yahoo! There is more to Google than what it seems, try reading some articles about them.

 

I figure that if you can make $1 for every .50c spent on adwords within a couple of days of starting something then you should start to worship Google. lol

 

Google is famous for doing good work,that's why every seo try to rank higher in google.

 

Google is a nice company, but I hate the fact that they ''spy'' on you if you use Google Chrome..

 

They make good products:
- Adsense
- Analytics
- Gmail
- Reader
- Docs
- Maps
- Search

and many more...

 

I am not obsessed with google.. Its just that Google offers the best search engine service (for text)..

 

I worship Google because google is big, famous, has a lot of offers and pays with adsense.......

I sure as hell dont worship them or anyone else for that matter... ( oppps except god and santa )

But i could learn to like them better if they stopped playing games with webmasters and actually "Showed Us" in webmaster tools what the reason is for ANY type of penalty that a site have received so that we dont have to sit here and try guessing the reason. You have to figure that if they could create great thing like google earth, Chrome and other stuff they could easily do this for webmasters.

I know google offers the best services in the industry, a browser, a search engine which according to alexa is the 2nd most visited site, an ad network and many many more.

But for me google in my eyes is like a threat, they become too HUGE and they become a threat for internet's sake, they have incredible power. I don't know wether they will do evil or good but everyone can be corrupted by greed.

i like google i think they are cool

 

In my area, Google is 70% of the internet searches.

Google Chrome is the only internet browser that doesn't crash on my computer (IE and FF are always crashing).

 

So what if someone does worship google? Help me make money and I will worship you too

 

Google isn't the be all, end all of PPC.

There are huge sums of money to be made exclusively on Yahoo or MSN if you know what you are doing.

 

Google isn't god -- but they are the boss at search engines.

 

I actually detest the awesome power of Google or anyone or anything that has such a monopoly. But what can we do. The world needs a search engine that is the equivalent of firefox and how they brought IE down.
