You seem to want to alter your argument every time i demonstrate that you don't actually conduct yourself in the manner you demand of others. You start by saying we should respect views because they are held by an individual, then you claim that we should respect them until they are proven false, now you are saying we should respect views until they are expressed. Each time you alter your argument in an effort to make my examples of views you obviously don't respect exempt from automatic respect.

So again, do you "respect" the view that women should shut up and do as they are told? Or is it just views that you agree with that should be respected, no doubt specifically religious views?

I will until you muster the either the courage or integrity to answer it. You made the statement, i'm just asking if you conduct yourself in the manner you demand of others by asking if, after you have told us to respect views on the grounds that they are views, respect them yourself. It's understandable that you would be reluctant to answer though, what with it inevitably blowing your entire premise out of the water and exposing you as a hypocrite.

Tell you what, why don't you try and refine your argument further to try and exclude that example.

stOx, other than just being lame your response really has no relevance to the quote - where in the above quote is their a reference to an invisible man, what abject servitude is there in reaching the Outerworld, the pursuit of life is begging, dignity is leaving as you came as nothing......there is nothing in your three sentences above of any value even of its own accord much less as a misguided reference to your own inner indiscretion.

And more to the point, if all views deserve respect, why don't you respect the view that women should shut up and do as they are told? oh that's right, the views you don't respect aren't religious mumbo jumbo so aren't entitled to automatic respect are they. My advice is if you are going to demand that other people do something, make sure you do it yourself first, otherwise you end up looking like a hypocrite.

I love how easy it was to tie you up in your own argument. Nothing demonstrates just how weak your position is than that.

For arguments sake here is me expressing an opinion: All gays should be killed, preferably by stoning. Now exercise our intellect, moral values, experience and instinct to evaluate this opinion and let me know if you would respect it and that it should not be ridiculed.

 

He can't answer the questions, because answering would prove he is unwilling to conduct himself in the manner he demands from others. It seems it's only views he agrees with, invariably views of a religious nature, and invariably christian ones, which are supposedly entitled to automatic respect. Basically he wants his views respected while being afforded the right to not respect others.

Next he will probably claim that while he doesn't respect the view it's self, he respects the persons right to hold it, as though that was what he was arguing for all along and as if i was trying to prevent stupid views being expressed. Ignoring the questions put directly to him, while being cowardly and disingenuous, is really the only nook he has left to hide in. it's quite tragic really.

In a way i'm glad he refuses to answer. it proves his position is untenable and that he is a hypocrite in a far more profound way than my words ever could.

How he can claim that asking if he respects certain views after he told us that all views should be respected is irrelevant of mind boggling. I think he has confused the word "irrelevant" with the word "inconvenient".
