Why do you "buy" DP signature links?

    One question to those why buy / ever bought forum sig links: do you sincerely think a sig link IS a valuable backlink for your site even if you are "renting" it on a monthly/ yearly basis??

    yes, i do think it is valuable. do you think otherwise, and if so, what is your proof and credentials as a seo expert?

    Well the people that sell the links in their signature are most likely more active posters, so your site gets around more, and the backlinks are useful, as it is dofollow after all.

    I am not saying its not valuable. To be honest, I think it could be useful because forum threads are indexed frequently by search engines...specially if the thread is long and "happening"...how much did you pay for the links though...I'm just curious;)

    Signature link is really useful that is why people here and on other forums buy/sell signature links even for huge prices per month :)

    I just think backlinks are valuable only when they are genuinely counted AS backlinks for the site in question. "Relevant" quality links I believe ARE "real" backlinks...while a site on SEO could have a link from a site on investment in Mongolia but...it does not make any difference in terms of linkbuiding for the SEO site ;) However, calculation of backlinks depends totally on the search engine concerned. G is pretty clever when it comes to measuring relevancy.

    so for some SE's these backlinks are far more potent?

    I understand it isn't known for sure... but is that the general agreement?

    it's hard because I often find conflicting information but some people here seem to have a good idea of what they are talking about.

    Basically it is funda of advertising of your site, more the posting is done more frequently the visitors will see it. We all know that whatever is seen by us, is quickly recovered by the mind. If we need something then first we find the way to get that easily and 'DP signature' is an another easy way.
