I don't think we give out every secret. For example, have you seen any one here give out their PPC trade secrets? As in for example, their list of ringtone keywords, how much they bid for each of them on each PPC site, the URL, title, and description??!! I don't think so!!! :D:D

psst, Shoemoney, fill free to PM me!! :D:D

I once gave out an Amazon trade secret and soon learned that was a MASSIVE no-no!!!!

In addition to this, someone may have something to add to one of your secrets and improve upon it.

depends on what you call secret..a lot of stuff is common sense...I mean if ebooks talking about "having some content" or about "making your visitors stay to increase profit" are giving away secrets then I guess we all like to give out those secrets because anyone can figure it out...it just takes common sense..

But as far as secrets of what you do, your niche, URLs, keywords, adwords stuff, where you promote your sites etc...(now, that's what I call secrets ;))

I agree with Obelia. We aren't working against each other as much as we are working together. And, as ronmojohny points out, the internet grows at such a rate that we don't need to compete with each other in a cut-throat style. We're more of friends who share the same obstacles, rather then enemies who need to weasel our way ahead of each other.

Agreed with the above 2 posts. The probability of someone being in the same market/niche as you is rather small. As for real secrets I don't think many people like to share those, such as keywords/ppc campaigns and giving info on products that sell, etc. Quite simply because the market then gets heavily saturated.

On a side note I think it's good for karma to give out tips tho :)

You learn from your peers, friends, acquaintances,DPer's etc

    Long may it continue

    Why because knowledge is wealth

    And wealth is money!!

(millions in the world have no money, why? well one of the reasons is that they are deprived of knowledge and education, and what is the stark result of that situation. Well simple no money)

Let's remember to work hard and help others

Well I gave out my secret because I don't think it will really hurt me.
I am giving it for free but I put affiliate links in the hope that people appreciating the story will use the links to sign up for services. (I believe that's better than charging for my "secret")

I like the post of Ninno :p,
In the white hat seo for a site, there are no secrets, we all know that we have to build links, we all know that no one knows the algorithm of search engines, we all know that keywords density help, we all know that the domain name of a site and its aging factor is very important and it determines one site ranking...

The only secrets comes into black hat seo :D. So? Who wants to give out their secret first? :D

That's why getting to the top is about so much more than figuring out a few secrets. You still need to apply what you know, as well as making the effort to do your own research.

There are no secrets in programming either, it's all in the manuals, but the majority of people look at it as though it's some sort of arcane magic that we are performing because the learning curve is so steep.
