Why do we wear cloths?

I was commented “though you are dressed quiet well your physique doesn’t suite the dress”

I thought are these garments designed for us or we are getting tailored for them.

Why do we wear cloths?

To protect our body
to cover the body
to please the society
to feel satisfied
to create uniformity
to depict the culture
to dominate, or………

Piece of fabric torn and shaped to affect the human emotions

Hope the replies would change my and many of our perceptions towards dress code and importance of fabrics.

 

men wear suits because it makes them look more muscular and built - and in turn more powerful - it also hides the beer gut

 

I come from Manitoba. We wore clothes to protect against mosquitos in summer and the snow in winter.

I now live at the west coast. There are almost no mosquitos and the weather is generally mild enough some people do not wear clothes.

 

2 things:

1. to be protected from the outside weather
2. to please the society

Otherwise I love to be naked.

If weather is pleasant and no mosquitos then there will be open bathrooms and no wardrobe malfunctions.

Society will also bear who bare

 

Thats only because our idea of beauty has been brainwashed by hollywood... that and lots of foods made of corn syrup.

 

I dunno, I think most of my neighbors would be ugly whether Hollywood existed or not.

I agree, but those people that looks better with clothes doesn't look very well with the clothes too.

There are a number of reasons society has chosen to wear clothes. A few examples are give below:

I happy to sacrifice seeing beautiful scantliy clad women just so I don't have to see these specimens above not wearing any clothes.

 

Utopia is

In an ideal world, I would ship all of us beautiful people to a beautiful Island where we could all just be naked and free al the time. The ugly people would have to stay at home and work all the time to make our food/power and stuff so we could be people of leisure.
