Why do we need PR?

PR means nothing.

Businesses online make millions with little to no PR

It really comes down to knowing how to generate business. You do not need a silly green ingot to do that.

Google does not make or break a business, The owner makes or breaks the business.

For me, it is not that relevant. But for most of members here, it stands as a certification from google.

 

My site is just PR3 but when ever I post a new article my article gets indexed in next 10 minutes and starts to rank in less then 30 minutes. Page rank is not that important, quality of site and content is more important. But the fact is that if you have a high quality site people will naturally link to you and your page rank will rise.

PR is important for those who want's high page rank and through which they can sell their advertisement space. For any website, traffic is the most important thing to gain a good online presence and revenue. PR is just a remark of google to state the quality of that website.

I am not agree here. Why you link google crawler and PR here. Google crawler only visit your website regularly if you update your website regularly and having many backlinks.

PR is beneficial for getting advertisement with good rates. So PR is important. PR is also not connected to the good alexa ranking or traffic. Sometimes a PR 1 website even get more traffic daily than the PR 5 website. Please donot provide any false information if you are not sure.

 

PR is useful if you are selling links. PERIOD

 

The higher the number the more power in your mind!

 

You can easily trade back links and earn money when you have a good PR.

 

People here use PR in order to sell links. The higher the PR, the more money you can ask for.
Granted, it isn't ethical but that's how most people around here use PR.

i think its not important i have 2 pr 3 website that dosent gain much traffic as compared to pr1 website

 

One of my sites has PR 0 (it is a new site), but Google Bot crawls about one third of the pages every day. Secondly, whenever I post a new page, it gets indexed in about 30 minutes (max).

I think unlike the olden days when Google Crawlers were lazy, nowadays, they crawl your site in minutes (if not in hours) provided your site is already indexed.
PR is not relevant at least from this point of view.

 

I think more important is Traffic. I have website with 150k monthly traffic and PR0. So why should I care about PR?

 

On my site, only about 2% visitors go the home page which can show them my PR. I don't know out of them how many have Google toolbar installed to know the PR.

Most visitors will directly go to the relevant page (mostly directed from search engines) and may be one or two more pages. Then they disappear. So, I doubt whether people actually know what is my PR. (a big ZERO).

PR is more important for SEO experts or advertisers. So, your position in their eyes will reduce if you have low PR. But for most of normal visitors, PR is irrelevant and your content is the only relevant thing.

 

Guys... PR has been officially dropped by google in the google webmaster area - and PR has got no importance in terms of webmaster -

'Traffic is king' without that you have no revenue,i would rather have that any day than a PR,yes you can charge more for links if you have a higher PR but i would rather have higher revenue due to the visitors that payed links.
