Arrr, so thats what I am missing :p

I understand your frustration, Don't get me wrong, I hate scammers just as much as the next person, but unless someone can provide some sort of proof to Google that they are doing something that is illegal, then I doubt there is much Google can do about it.

If they register at your site with Nigerian IP addresses, then chances are they register with Google using those same IP addresses. Google most likely know this, but as far as I am aware, Google will not, or cannot discriminate against a person just because they use an IP address that belongs to a certain Country.
That could possibly lead to some sort of law suit against them.

    Exactly right adityaw.

So alansingapore, all you can do is keep trying to warn an/or advise people how not to get scammed. I wish you success, and admire your efforts.
But I would advise against accusing people of being criminals based on there IP address, otherwise (depending on where you live) you may find yourself accused of defamation, discrimination or some friviless lawsuit.

    Take care.

    Cheers
    James

You think these people care about the law? These scams are estimated to be the second largest foreign currency earning industry for Nigeria behind oil; are the Nigerian state going to take a stand against this activity?

Impersonation of others isn't a criminal offence? Registering at a site with a false name and address will generally be against the T & C's. Using an ISP for criminal activity will be against the ISP T & C's.

Lycos are happy to take down these sites without fear of recrimination, why shouldn't Google?

Google needs to buck up and show a little more responsibility about alot of things that are on blogspot, they need to hire some more people to concentrate on checking these things and banning and taking down sites

they are not "allowed". they just cant have enough time to check all the blog on the internet. that's why we need to report such a site.

But the there is no way to report these. Please try from the links I have given. There is no way without using another excuse, spam, identity theft etc. and then sending copies of driving docs or some such sh**. It is total "Google, we are so perfect don't bother us because we are too busy" crap.

Google is innocent if you ask me, it doesn't state in their TOS that if your a criminal you can't post on blogger. actually it's the police, ATF or FBI's job to crack down on this guys, they can just claim to be a buyer and bust the criminals a$$es and not Google's job to jail people

Exactly. Is Google supposed to actually try and purchase one of these to see if the people are scamming or not?

Last thing we need is for Google to become cops. I do know of these scams, but seriously... they are just posting up information and not directly selling anything on the site... what does Google really have to do with this?

Not selling anything? But providing the email addresses for you to buy. I would compare it to drug dealers operating in a nightclub which is subsequently closed down by the local police.

I think clause (c) would cover it in the Blogger agreement.

    (e) comes close too.

Perhaps you should have read it before posting.

If you're asking if google have replied, no of course not and the sites reported are still there. As it is not an adsense issue I don't expect action to be taken.

    Update:

Two weeks have passed since reporting these scammers and Google have taken no action whatsoever. Google may say "Do no evil", but for scammers they add, "Scammers can do as much as they like".

I used to admire Google for great technology, but my opinion sinks lower and lower.......................

report here and call it a day
It isn't just Blogger so don't single them out, it's everywhere. As soon as one avenue closes, another opens.

The Nigerian gov't does have a point (I'm generalizing). All these scams are for something too good to be true. If people would stop trying to get over, the scammers would go away.

There is a funny site out there somewhere where there is a guy who scams the scammers, it's hilarious. He makes them do all kinds of silly stuff before he'll send them money, which he has not intention of doing. Wish I could remember the URL.

    It'll make you feel better
