Why do Stupid sites earn so much?

Yeah, but you get "stupid people" clicks, which pay crappy. Because people who visit perezhilton usually don't have any money and/or are there just for entertainment, not to buy something.

 

Maybe the stupid site is owned by smart people.

 

Those sites (icanhascheezeburger / perehilton) are absolutely idiotic, and the same can be said for their visitors. Just by reading the content (if you can call it "content") and comments, I feel like throwing up. lol

..but just because the sites are stupid doesn't mean the webmasters are...These *might* be the old classic case of smart people (I'm giving the webmasters the benefit of the doubt) taking advantage of dumb people (their visitors who like ridiculous cat pics and gossip garbage)

Well, I don't think it was the same people who went back, probably new visitors who access the sites. What is important is to make something which seems very enticing but then when they visit the site, it sucks. Kindda like how some movies are, good title, good promos but when you watch it, you just feel that it is a waste of time.

 

Gossip sites like hilton's pull from the same crowd that picks up the gossip magazines on the racks by the check outs at the grocery store. Unfortunately with the explosion of some unknown need for celebrity crap it was only a matter of time before it appeared on the internet. Now all of those people with the extra time in line, have it online as well and promote the growth. But in the end we all know its a numbers game, more traffic = more $

build a site that will develop loyalty, and a following......a loyalty to your site, AND to your ads......

I liked it aswell, it doesn't mean we're any less of a person than you, that's just being shallow, that's the kind of one track thought process that holds many people back - just because you don't like it, you wont do it, you wont visit it etc. does NOT mean other people aren't interested and this applies to online business aswell. If you don't understand that then to bad for you.

Why would you say perezhilton is a stupid site? you might not like it but it gets new content everyday and millions of people love celebrity gossip.
