These days on DP, in some parts of the forum at least, it seems like a lot of threads are the same or similar. For example: "What is the most important on page elements for increasing page rank?": http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2443293 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2443324 "Is W3C Validation important for SEO" http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2443319 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2443299 And that's just the start of it really. Often people are demanding a description (for example: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2442285), when they could search for the answer themselves. (How can one be a webmaster if you are unable to use search on a forum on Google's on search???) It's like there is a pool of answers and questions out there people are using to bump up their post count. </end of rant/conspiracy theory.>
Honestly, it's probably retards that incorrectly think Google will ever even *see* their signature (which the links are also nofollowed... not that it matters since only logged in users see them... and a search engine doesn't log in). So then they make idiotic threads.
Well, the fact that their efforts are in vain provides some amusement. Luckily it seems not every section of DP is infested with retards.
ryan_uk, just reports such retards. It is somewhat amusing to see someone ask what is SEO and then two posts later offer their SEO service.
Unbelievable! At first I thought they were "simple" people wanting help, but now I see they are definitely just idiotic spammers.
A better rule would to have new thread moderation for new users, that would cut down the big spam but there will still be people who buy accounts to spam.
I'm beginning to think that some posts are are purely just spamming. Take a look at "What is image optimization in SEO?": http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2443328 Also on four other forums (at least two of those are the same person): http://seoforums.org/seo-questions-...-optimization-search-engine-optimization.html http://forums.hostsearch.com/showthread.php?26417-What-is-image-optimization-in-SEO http://www.webicy.com/search-engine-optimization/51623-what-image-optimization-seo.html http://www.geekpoint.net/threads/what-is-image-optimization-in-seo.35951/ Going back to the earlier one about on page elements page rank blah: http://www.webicy.com/search-engine...rtant-page-elements-increasing-page-rank.html http://forums.hostsearch.com/showth...ant-on-page-elements-for-increasing-page-rank http://www.bing.com/community/webmaster/f/12256/t/674166.aspxasing-page-rank/ http://www.geekpoint.net/threads/wh...page-elements-for-increasing-page-rank.35932/ http://www.webmastertalkforums.com/...elements-increasing-page-rank.html#post339140 seoakram and udaypal seem to be the same people.
Just report them, click on the report button in the first post and enter the urls to all spam threads. Unfortunately, it's not so easy to stop the spam.
Reported. No, not easy, especially if something like iMacros is being used to automate it, so there's not even a chance of a user-agent as a signature.
The only pity about deleting those ones is that potential customers doing their "due diligence" (because they do, right?) don't get to see their lame link building attempts.
As long as they take their due diligence beyond just searching DigitalPoint, such as searching Google for their user names, their retardation is evident elsewhere. Seems to be a a number of "What is..." type posts. Then you Google their post and often find it's on a few other sites (often under the same username). Maybe that's normal for forum posting, but it seems like a lot of effort to get an answer to a question (how much quicker and easier it would be just to type the question in Google then read the first page?).
