Why do so many ebook/program prices end in a 7?

Could it be one guy with all those hundreds of websites or is it some formula that converts best? I see prices of $97, $67, $27 or some other price ending in a 7. Any good reasons?

Yes, I have noticed that too. Probably a psychological reason...

I think it makes the price appear cheaper

eg. $27 may appear cheaper then $25.

I would assume after much testing the 7 converted better.

It is related to marketing psychology.

A report cost $5 may look less attractive to one that costs $7

Yes, it is generally agreed that prices ending in 7 convert better. I suspect though that after such a long time of "7s" that might start to change or at least not be as effective as it used to.

The funny thing is I was going to test one of my products with a different ending number - I was going to try 3 or 4 but guess what? In the end I went for 7! :D
