Why do so few people use Firefox?

I had always believed Mozilla Firefox was a better, safer, faster than Internet Explorer. Then why don't people use Firefox more?

Take a look at my traffic.


Only 16% use Firefox!

Why? 79% users used IE! But IE is so buggy, and crashes every 10 minutes. Why do people still use IE?

 

Firefox is good but i preffer Opera, i don't like IE, it is useless

 

Because people are stupid... I'm not kidding...

 

I recently saw similar statistics on one of my sites, though I think a little over 90% of my visitors used IE. Ever since I switched to Firefox from IE 2-3 years ago, I've certainly had less headaches. I thought Firefox was getting more popular, though.

 

They are not educated, they don't realize there are other options. Microsoft computers come with IE, so they say either,
1. Why download another way to browse sites when I have one?
2. I don't know there is another way.
3. IE must be the best because it comes with the pc.

 

You have pretty much got it spot on. The majority of n00bs (sorry i mean internet user's) dont know what a web browser is, and they presume the internet in Internet Explorer.

Because windows comes with IE so people just get used to using that and don't like to change.

 

Because Microsoft still dominates the market and their PC come with IE...

 

More users still prefer IE. I only use Firefox

 

I use firefox, coz this is open source. I like to prompt open source.

 

I used to prefer ie untill it crashed every 10 minutes so I switched to firefox.

 

I have IE. I still use it because it DOESN'T crash every 10 minutes, it works just fine and I see no reason to change to something else.

 

Agree with nicangeli. People think that the only way to get on internet is use IE. Or they just have no time to look for another browser. Or they are stupid

 

It depends on the market your site is dedicated to.

I think I get around 60% IE, 20% FF and the rest in other browsers, personally i'm not bothered.

A lot of people will just stick with IE as it's what came with their computer and they are used to it, no point in replacing something that works.

 

Because IE comes with Windows.

Also, it is wayyyy slower than Firefox.

I use firefox but since switching from IE I've had so many more problems and crashes, only nice thing about them is that they save my pages yay! The average computer user has no use for firefox, IE does quite fine.

 

IE just sucks. FF is a lot faster and a lot easier to use. Now I know a lot of people that at work they can not download FF so they have to use IE. However most people I talked to that used IE I got them switched over to FF and they say they will never use IE again.

 

There are only as many tool bars as you want...
