Why Do People Try and Force SEO So Much?

I am venting a little frustration here, because I have been reading about people who are putting far too much emphasis on choosing a keyword rich domain name. Infact some people are saying this is very helpful to SEO.

It really annoys me that people say that because any good person knows, this is can help but is not something you should concentrate on. Infact if you don't have keywords in your domain name it won't harm your SEO!

I have to make this point, because if you look at a very competetive keyword such as "dvds" NOT ONE OF THE TOP TEN RESULTS IN THE UK HAVE DVD IN THE DOMAIN NAME!

Please people have a domain name that is brandable!!

I have been screaming about this and a range of other things for almost 10 years. In all fairness, keyworded domains are only an issue as of late and mostly because folks simply throw up bullshit on said domain.

That being said, I only do brand based work in the first place. Your comments make perfect sense to me anyway. I don't have the luxury of simply hurling links at the problem.

Most of what you read around here in the SEO board is not only wrong, its patently absurd. I have given up trying to tell folks how to do stuff right around here, its a moot point.

Have you checked the services section here lately? 5 pages of "SEO Services" and none of it is SEO.

    At any rate, I concur!

most of those who said things "blah blah blah faster SEO" are mostly focus on just ranking, linking and fast results with questionable quality...thats what i've noticed this days, sad to say SEO term becomes overrated and overused

However, it is true that an EMD is given higher ranking than those domains which don't have the keywords.

If you are seeing any site ranking good in search engine without having keyword in domain than it has made lots of efforts thats why it is ranking... compared to this, an EMD site doesn't have to make much effort, if you are doing quality work, you won't be penalized.

You can have an SEO friendly domain that also has brand value. I have a two word domain, where the first word is the niche.

No.... No...... Don't submit two many links without checking high pr or low pr, dofollow or nofollow, google backlink etc. Find Only high pr dofollow links and submit those links only. I am only focus on High quality links / High PR links. Guest blogging is a best way to getting good traffic and generate high quality back links.
