Well it all starts with one just to try out but then its very hard to quit. A suggestion to all who want to try it out, DON'T. You may think its easy to quit but then your trapped. Even I started off the same way but now its around 3 years and I'm trapped into this.
i was smoker, i was smoking 20 cigarettes a day (for 5 years) , since 2 years i smoke like 1-5 cigarettes per week, only on party's or when im really stressed old people smoke because most of them have alot of problems, which makes it hard to quit, younger smoke because it really gives a pleasure if you were non-smoker your first cigarette gives you pleasure you think its good and you start, but the more you smoke, the less the pleasure, you think if you smoke more you will get more pleasure, but you don't...
I smoke because i was stupid when i was younger (now im 22) and tried one. Now im addicted. DONT START TO SMOKE !
Older people do it because it was just a Thing You Do, like drinking espresso in the 90s. Younger people do it because their parents did, or they think it'll make them feel better.
i remember my friend asking this question to every one who smoke and he ended up smoking 10 cigarette a day -- ironic its simple its addictive first you smoke to try and then you just get stuck with it btw i don't smoke my opiate is sex
Because,Smoking is one of the most difficult addictions to break. Scientists estimate that cigarettes are more addictive than cocaine, heroin, or alcohol. According to the World Health Organization, smoking kills more people than any disease in the world. With all this information readily available, why do people continue to smoke? Most people who smoke do so because they can't stop. Nicotine is a highly addictive substance that makes people feel energized and alert. Smokers get a rush after a cigarette, and giving up produces withdrawal symptoms that include difficulty sleeping and cravings. Seventy percent of people who quit smoking eventually start again.
They smoke because they made a stupid mistake and tried a cigarette and got addicted. It's difficult to quit the habit because they are, literally, addicted to nicotine. If they stop smoking they go through withdraw, which is uncomfortable and unless you have strong will power and desire to quit, most don't think it's worth feeling like that.
The can't leave the habit because it, like any other drug is addicting. There are many reasons people smoke but the number one reason is because their parents did. People learn habits from parents. Other reason include nerves, being around other people smoking, using it as an appetite suppressant. None are good reasons and people should never start. They are one of the toughest addicts to quit
People try it because their friends are enjoying it and they're curious. It can be unpleasant the first few times, but if you do it enough to get the hang of it, you discover that it makes you feel really good. That's because the nicotine in cigarettes makes your body release pleasure chemicals like dopamine. Eventually, if they keep smoking, many people become addicted, which means that the brain gets used to having the feel good chemicals in it and you start to feel bad when you *don't* smoke. That's what makes it so hard to stop, plus the fact that you miss the way it made you feel good. It's like being hungry or thirsty, except that you want to smoke.
I'd say most people do it to help them relax. Release tension. I have smoked before, but have never been addicted. I hate it, it smells and tastes horrible, but I will say that it is relaxing.
Smoking - is a way of suicide, only it is slow. SLOW SUICIDE! Then another question - why do people like to kill themselves?
Eating at McDonald's daily is a suicide, too .. It's what people do - some drink, some smoke, some eat junk .. so what ?
