Agreed 100% with you Michael. Tell them also to ditch the 'nofollow' tag as well. The 'nofollow' tag is there so no PR is pass to the link, why bother invented the tag if PR is useless for SERP.
The nofollow attribute has nothing to do with PR. Of course links are important to seo, But the important factor of those links are authority and and anchor text. Which is also why they are going after people who buy links. See this is the problem, Everyone thinks links are about PR.
Ok, couple quick questions, just to better understand you... Do you think your family reunions are great places to pick up dates? Have you been married more than twice, but still have the same in-laws? Have any of the women in your family conceived a baby as a result of an alien abduction? -Michael
No one ever takes into consideration what the site is ranked for. If you have a "New Cars for sale site" and you are ranked for : "New Car Garage" "New car smell" "New sale cars" Yet type in "New car sales" and its on page 8! it really does nothing for what the sit needs to be ranked for. I see sites all the time that are ranked, but not for the immediate subject matter. Big difference. That is the thing with PR, it will rank you for what ever you optimize correctly for, and not if it is relevant to the main subject matter of the site. What good is PR traffic if it is for a back door term?
1.) majority of the users does not look for the site's PR, because they don't even know what is it. 2.) It does not affect anything in the site's SERP or site's traffic. 3.) It can be useful if... You want to exchange or sell links
I'm sure its been shot down a million times already since it was posted, but this statement is complete and utter rubbish. FACT!
