I have just started in the proxy business(yesterday). I have just made my own proxy site call hidemesurf.com and i am pretty happy about it. I sent out a few campaigns for visitors and i notice that some people have more than 1 proxy site. I was wondering why would that be necessary since you will have the same adsense on every site and the same people will probably only go on one site. Wouldn't it be just easier to get one site instead(cheaper advertising). Anyways i was just wondering. And give me some tips for making money with proxy site please, i want to make a big business out of it.
The thing is though, traffic really isn't always the same. You can promote 10 proxys the same exact way. Word of mouth will make certain ones spread, as will people reposting your proxys. Traffic will never be the exact same - which means higher earnings.
Very good point Rizy. Maybe the problem is that with many proxies you have more chances to ger more traffic, because almost always the proxy that you like most will not be the proxy with the best traffic.
I guess there is the 'cheapo' way to make proxies; take a script, slap on a layout (unique or not) and promote the hell of them and the solid way to do it. With the first way it is advisable to start a bunch and see what happens, with the second way you'll make sure you have a highly scalable infrastructure, solid bandwidth, custom or very customized software (maybe even a VPN service added). With that latter you'll probably have one and try to make it as big as possible. I would always go for the latter, however it is kind of expensive and you need skilled people. But then you can actually make real rev from a proxy
Hi, Well euhm.. I have a lot of proxies and some proxy networks... it's good to link them with each other but in my eyes... You need to buy 1 proxy per week, and in that one week.. you need to promote it like hell! In one week, you can make sure your proxy gets +1000 uniques daily... Than you earn some weeks and than you sell the site This is my vision.. I don't do it like that myself; but I'd like to do it like that though... Greetz
But why would you only want to promote it for one week and then sell it? What's wrong with keeping it since you wasted all that money for advertising
Sometime the traffic will drop if the promotion compaign stop. This is the reason why ppl own proxy networks take the lead.
Well, euhm let's tell something... If I keep it, than I earn 25$ per proxy average on adsense (F.E.) But if I sell it, I get 150$... So that's good for 6 months adsense + when my traffic would drop, I would only get 5$ per proxy per month... So mate, if I sell them than I get more money than when I hold them Greetz
haha i see now. How long usually do you keep promoting them until you sell it. And how do you promote.
1 Week? Than I let it just do it's thing for one month... after that I sell it... I promote via Yahoo groups first (paid) and when I see traffic drops, I add it to xeem.info, proxy.org etc Greetz
Another important thing to note is that proxies are often used in school/work and will get banned. Having more than 1 proxy means that users that are banned from one are not lost and you have the potential to pick them up on your other proxies.
Your site has no ads on the proxified pages. Throw up adbrite, no adsense there though. Check out my sig link below for other programs. Also people have more than one because if they make $5.00 on 1 you can multiply that by however many sites you have... Good Luck
