Can't remember the last time i got drunk.... ....some years back! The reason i did it though.... ....um, i haven't a clue, but had a great time, the last time i did it. Great story, but too long to say it here.
Usually people get drunk just for enjoy, and I think everyone knows that drinking in the limit is just for enjoy and beyond the limit, it just a way to get trouble. So don't take drinking in another way, it is just a way of enjoyment like other thing but restriction is everywhere.
Some for too happy, some for too sad, and the rest, they don't know why, just like you. Get drunk is a good thing whether it's for happiness or sadness, because when you get drunk, you feel comfortable. But never get too drunk if you want to get laid, trust me.
