why do people buy low pr links

on the links for sale pages, there are people selling links from pr 4's, 3's and sometimes even less. Why do people buy these links? Can't they go out and just exchange links themselves?

I can understand paying for high PR pages but low pr. I don't get the point. I'm trying to find High PR pages to exchanges links with but am finding difficult. Not looking to buy links at this point though. Any one know how to find these high PR pages related to technology

Lower PR links still add up, it's a matter of getting value for your money.

Some people buy links, not for PR, but for traffic.

Some people don't want out bound links on their site so they don't swap.

10 PR4's will cost less than a PR6 in most cases and are easier to find. Volume sometimes will make up for lack of PR.

I have a PR6 font site, not sure how well that would fit with bluetooth though. Let me know

Getting people to respond to link exchange emails anymore is like pulling teeth.

PS- I'm looking to buy pr 2-4 links (homepage or internal -non links- page). I'd prefer one-time payment, permanent links (US hosted sites). PM me if you got it :)

You can buy links for more reasons than just PR.
If you're buying links for traffic purposes then the PR of the site is completely irrelevant.
As said earlier, you can buy 10 (or so) PR3's for the price of a PR7. If you're looking to improve SERPs more than just PR then the PR3's may be better value.

Don't forget, you could be buying today's PR 3's and 4's now and they could be 5's and 6's tomorrow :D

Anyone else selling permanent links for one-time payment? I bought some yesterday and have a few more bucks burning a hole in my pocket! Thanks!

If the price is right, I'll even pay for links on "links pages" too. :)
