Why do people buy .info domains

    lotta people are actually gettin into .info now, i know a company which is running some serious money on those cheap domains. mind you i'm sure its done questionably, but even still, shows you that if you have something on the net, as long as its promoted right you can make something from it

    well the way I see it is, buying a .info domain is because its cheaper then buying a com net or org, and it really depends on what your buying the domain for, if its a personal site, or perhaps blog it seems reasonable to go with a .info domain, and like others said already usually if your registering a domain thats already taken, sometimes your lucky to get it with a .info.

    It comes in pretty cheap. When you find a good name, its probably only available in the .info extension

    It is obviously they are cheap . However .info domains are not as popular as the .com domains .

    The dot info domains are available at a throw away prices and exactly for these reasons, google gives less importance to these kind of sites. People trading in sites prefer dot info sites...

    Also when people create a website that starts doing well like"mydomain.com"to stop domain squatting they buy out all other extensions like .biz .net .org and so on but they often forget .info then they can claim the falloff without any work at all.
