why do people ask stupid questions here?

why do people as stupid questions in the forum?
(this may sound like a stupid question, but it has a point... read on)

some questions like do you believe in god, or do you like this or that, or politics and so on....

what's the point? To build a popular thread, what is the benefit to them?

Unless it's to get traffic to some link in the thread or possibly to your sig link, I donlt understand the point.

Or is it pure boredom? and you just do it to read the replies?

Everyone knows that you never argue politics or religion unless you are prepared for a fight....and there is never a winner to an question involving an opinion.
