Why do one of my sites do a lot better than the rest?

    Aloha,

I have around 20 websites that are monetarized with AdSense.

All of the sites are based on Wordpress and all target midlevel keywords (I do extensive keyword research before creating my sites, so I believe they should all have the same level of competition, etc.)

What I don't understand is why one of my sites (the star site) do a lot better than the rest??

Most of my sites get around 50 visitors per day and generate $5/day, but my star site get around 300 visitors per day and generate around $25/day :D

All the sites (including the star site) have around 10 pages that each target a specific keyword and all of them have the same inbound links.

My star site is a bit more than 2 months old. The other sites are either a bit younger or older.

    Thanks and have fun,

    Hello,

Are you working with different niches? Maybe this could be the difference. My 2 cents.

Sound slike you need more links to the other sites. Seems like your making almost the same per click so just work on getting more traffic for the other sites.

    Different niches pay differently.
Traffic coming from different countries pays differently.

By the way you make $5 from every 50 visitors or so?
Good job, that's really fantastic :)

The sites are from different niches, but I'm sure I can generate $25/day from each and every site if they all get 300 visitors/day.

My problem is how I can get 300 visitors for each of my sites and not just the star site?

Most of my visitors come from Google - and the star site do of course rank higher in Google than the other sites.

All the sites have the same inbound links, so I guess that isn't the problem.

When I look at the competition (pr, inbound links and page optimization) it also seems to be on the same level.

Why ask a question if you answer it yourself ?
    :D :D :D

It ranks higher so you get more visitors and you earn more.

    LOL

I too, think the answer to your question is within your own words. Hence in your words "My star site" lay the key to this riddle.

What is it that makes that site, the star site? Something with the site obviously stands above the rest in your eyes. Well that very well could be the factor that allows it a higher performance.

But why does it rank higher?

It is optimized in the same way, has the same links and the competition looks the same as for all the other sites.

Maybe that main site is more attractive and gets more visitors. Maybe the niche is more popular , maybe God likes the site more. Theres tons of factors to consider you get what i am saying...

Maybe there are more search queries for your star site and less competition than what you think. It is a tricky question when you ask this way tho :) it keeps us thinking...empty.
