Why do my PDFs rank higher than my HTML pages?

Is there any reason why a directory of PDFs would rank higher than the HTML pages?

There is no trouble in robots.txt, my HTML pages are indexed. But for some reason Google loves those PDFs. I am considering to do URL removal on the PDF directory...

Right, I have also seen this from some SEO books that any PDF files would receive a PR of 3. Google might love PDF files for the authority of Adobe and dominant status of PDF format for contents sharing online. :)

    Have a nice day,

Yes, this might be because your PDFs are visited/viewed more that your HTMLs.

I feel in PDF the crawler gets directly the content and there will no coding of html but in html pages there is lots of coding and other things so crawler gets content in less time. This might be the reason.

pdf directory provides more content and information in pdf can be distributed easily and rapidly than HTML pages that need RSS feeds and other things to be shared.
