Why do Muslims think they are naturally advantaged over others?

I could almost say that it's because muslims have a temperamental problem but I can't imagine most of them behaving alike. Even belonging to different ethnic origins doesn't prevent them from becoming de facto brothers, forget the geographic boundaries for a while.

So, what makes them think they are naturally advantaged over others? Why do they think they are superior? (most of you may disagree with using the term superior, but that's what they do). Because Quran said it? Or because of lawlessness in their countries? I am still not sure whether it can be attributed to god just yet. Let's see what's your guess.

Only the wackos think they're superior . It just happens that the Islam has them in ample supplies .

 

I don't think every one thinks they are superior over the other, its just a hype created by few fundamentalists, I can name n no.of them who are really good and free to go with, world tends to swallow bad over the good

 

I think that should be reworded to:

Why do {insert religion here} think they are naturally advantaged over others?

Presumably because they think the God of their religion is on their side.

I think that most religious people typically believe they are superior and look at others as though they're flawed because they don't worship the same/any god.

I do however believe that Muslims are by far the worst culprits in this department; followed by the Jehovah's Witnesses. (I have met lovely ones too, of the latter, however the majority I have encountered, which is not a lot by any means, did seem to think this way.)

Anyway, just my 2 cents

 

McFox hit it on the head, that trait is not limited to any one religion. Many religions believe they alone know The Truth and everyone else is a member of a misguided sect following the wrong path.

In fact, where I grew up there's an old joke about the Church of Christ religion (which interestingly splintered off of the Baptist Church in the 1800s) that goes something like this...

 

MCFox does have a solid point but you'd have to include here he people that thinks that because they have no religion they're far superior . Pretty much any belief system religious or not that makes you think you're "superior" is as wrong as it gets .

I feel naturally advantaged as do a lot of native English, I'm sure. That's because I'm fortunate enough to have been born within a wealthy Western nation.

There are practical people in every faith. Not all of them are nuts. But one gets the impression looking at the way muslims justify every aspect of theirs in an illogical way. Example: Monotheism which therefore makes non muslims kafirs who need to be fought against(Jehad)

 

Ask the Nazi's (who think they are a superior race) or the Jews (who think they are God's chosen people), they might have some tips.

 

Or the Japanese, or the Mexicans(La Raza), or the ..... well you get the point. McFox has it right.

 

I am going to disagree with everyone here.

I believe that at least part of this phenomena is related to child rearing practices which are prevalent in Islamic cultures. Male children are prized and are taught that they are predestined by god to be in command. Female children are taught that they are predestined to be enslaved as property and they are prized only for the connections that a well arranged marriage can provide.

Male children in Muslim families are often spoiled and weakly disciplined, which leads to exactly behavior which Alevoor has identified. Part of this is due to the fact that Islam has it's roots in a shamed based culture. In such a culture, "face" is far more important than right and wrong and showing fear is simply unacceptable. Part of maintaining a proper "face" for young Muslim males is to not be seen working or being disciplined or being limited in any way. In avoiding shaming these young men, their parents often end up turning them into uncivilized ruffians. They act "superior" because no one (including their parents) has ever disciplined them. They act superior because their parents have always told them that they must be superior. They act superior because fifty percent of the people around them (the females) are subjugated to them. They act superior because they are terrified of being shamed by being revealed as not being superior.
