Why do many top-listed pages have no content?

    I have seen sometime that
    some sites are listed in top of google but having poor content.
    How is it possible ?

    for me , You actually believe Google when they say that good content is the key to ranking? ,The only thing they are really hitting is scraped content and garbage spun content.

    Goolge is crap of late, the first page of results can be next to useless. Best just to click page 2. .. Or use Bing..

    I.E. ... the big news story on some of the news sites today is Apple and that pile of cash they have. So when you put "Apple to decide on its $98 billion cash pile" into Google.
    All you get (Bar one result).. is a page full of rubish, as 9 of the 10 results are only there because of SEO and not content.

    Someone is going to launch a new SE that works, and do to Google what Fackbook did to bebo,, remember them ?
