I wasn't sure where to put this thread but feel free to move it if its in the wrong place I have noticed something strange about the way google indexes my sites. for instance my homepage is indexed as; myhomepage.com without the www. I also have another site and they too, have indexed that one without the www. However i have another site which i think (but im not sure) i submitted to google to index and that one is listed with the www. Why are some listed with the www and some without? what can i do to get them re-indexed with the www. COuld it be something to do with the spider engines not picking up the www? and so indexing them without it. Anyone else experience similar problems?
if the spider follows a link to you site that has the www that's what it will see the page as, same deal if it dosn't. You can tell google whether you want your website to be indexed with or without it using google webmaster tools ...sorry i cant post links yet. Another way to do so is by using a rewrite in .htaccess to forward all pages without the www to the www version and vice-versa
