Why do blog get double the chances in Google search results? How unfair is that?

Google is the best thing that's happened to the internet.

They are all about fairness and quality.

Here is what I don't understand.

Google search ---> fetches websites + blogs
Google blog search ---> fetches blogs

So, let's see here....unfair comes to mind. To me blogs created the scraping/adsense sensation. Blogs are fine and belong for sure. However, Google is about equality and fairness. There is nothing I can do about this, but I do find it curious. Do they own Word Press or is there some deal that we don't know about? Does Google want blogs to rule the world? I'm just having fun, but darn sometimes the world is soooo unfair.

    What's missing?

Google website search ---> fetches only websites.

That would make the world a more beautiful place.

People really enjoy reading opinions from blogs and in the general search results blogs dont have as big a chance as the big news providers, so really it's great for the bloggers.

Big news sites get the general advantage overall, not bloggers.

Websites are completely commercial (usually)...so whatever they write in their sites is just to promote themselves and their products. Blogs generally have true opinions from the bloggers. And most importantly the frequency of new content-addition is much more in blogs as compared to websites, and Google simply loves new content, so blogs do get the double benefit in G-search.

PS: Nowadays due to paid posts some blogs are have paid/fake opined posts too, but Google is careful enough to filter out those results.
And remember that Blogger is completely owned by Google, so there's nothing wrong in promoting it's own product. You are neither forced to use Google nor Google is your employee, you use Google cause you like it :)

Actually think of it that way: All blogs are websites, but not all websites are blogs..

First Google didn't care about that blog thing, but with the increase in numbers of important bloggers, and real ones blogging about real incidents, and noticing that people prefer to read people's opinions and point of views other than just the News Broadcast, they came to the conclusion that its the next big thing, which it really is.

As you can see, most websites now includes a blog just for SEO purposes :D

Couldn't have said it better. Google is not some International Government agency that is run by public tax dollars and owes you some accountability of what you deem as fair.
They are a privately owned, for profit corporation.

They can do what ever they want. They are using their own money, paying their own staff, and paying their own bills.
If you don't like the service, use something else just like everything else in life.
Or as one of my southern relatives would say, "Baby, Google don't owe y'all nothin'"
