Hi I was just wondering :- Why do Adsense click values seems to fall towards the end of the day? Any ideas? Mark
Hi Mark, What makes you think that click values fall towards the end of the day? Have you done any kind of analysis with your adsense to arrive at that conclusion?
I can't say I have noticid this, To be honest its all guess work with adsense anyway. I think you get what you are given!!
Its most likely due to the shape of the world, when America goes to Sleep, then earnings generally go down for me too.
Are you talking about your impressions and clicks falling off at the end of the day or do you mean how much you’re actually paid per click at the end of the day? In the case of the former, I’d agree that it’s a case of when folks in Europe and the US go off line. I’d hazard a guess that for the latter, at the end of the day your impressions are obviously much higher than at the start of the day, which affects your CTR and payout per click. That’s a theory – I’ve observed similar behavior in the past regarding this and that’s the best I answer I could come up with.
I have noticed that Americans are more likely to click an ad than Europeans. (ie. clickthrough-rate are higher when America is awake than when Europe are awake....) As for Africa, South-America and Asia I don't hardly get anyone from those continents visiting my site.
My earnings tend to go down when my audience (mainly an Asian one) goes to sleep...I have seen clicks coming from times when only Americans would be awake, but these are few and far between.
Perhaps because the advertisers running the $0.50 ads up run out of their budget by the end of the day? I don't know but here in the UK, mine go up sharply when i go to sleep and it's early evening in the US.
I must say that I have also noticed this to an extent. The value of clicks fall slightly towards the end of the day on the few occassions that I have analysed this.
i guess it is due to the credit of advertisers getting low. i mean probably you get low paying ads are displayed towards the end of the day because all high paying ads get clicked of and reach the credit limit for that day
I don't think it matters for me. Yesterday, the last few hours made me some serious money. The only thing I can think of, is your target Audience. If say, your Audience is in Britain, they will be asleep when it is evening here and it could affect your earnings.
Well it all depends on what are the peak traffic times for your site. For most people it is when both Europe and the US are online at the same time. That just makes sense - less visitors - less clicks. But in addition to this most advertisers put on limits to the amount they are willing to spend. This would also influence it, but it would depend on your industry, I mean if there are loads and loads of advertisers in your industry and they are all paying around the 10 cent mark then you might not see a big difference as advertisers hit their daily limits, but if you are in fairly niche topic that has some high payouts, if a few of the bigger bidders reach their daily limits then you might find cheap ads take their place.
Actually it is due to day parting and advertisers daily budgets being depleted by the end of the business day, leaving only the larger advertisers left like ebay and amazon who pay pennies for ads. Peace
Adwords gives advertisers the possibility to show ads during a certain period a day. If I want to promote a webcam site for example, i do this by advertising from 17.00 to 00,00u I can imagine that some products or services are more advertised during the day so the competition for these keywords is lower in the night: lower prices to advertise also mean lower earnings for publishers
