DMOZ doesn't accept just every listing that is suggested, their editors carefully check your website for broken links, redirects, relevancy, content and much more.. It's up to the editor to decide if your site is worth listing.. With the amount of suggestions they are getting I suppose they only accept very small percentage of them - the best of the best..

I have tried dmoz a few times with no success even though, my site is in there guidelines. I dont understand why this directory would have such a high reputation with this kind of service.

You are incorrect about the "high reputation." It had a reputation back in 1999 when search engines were still a little iffy in their ability to sort the wheat from the chaff. Don't expect "service" - there are very, very few people left in DMOZ, and the web has grown very large in the past 10 years that DMOZ has been obsolete.

Submit your site following their guidelines and then forget about it. It can take a long time before your sites gets reviewed.

Thanks for the information. DMOZ has the reputation as previous. But its a process,. It may take long time for the approval.

there will NEVER be a response. The do not care about you or your site, so they will never ever bother to let you know if it was accepted or rejected.

From my experience with DMOZ I have submitted about 20 websites and only 1 which was not English was approved. So, statistics looks very poor. Maybe you heard before - submit once and forget :)

Lucky for you, whether DMOZ sucks eggs or is a shining beacon of efficient doesn't matter. You'll get ZERO traffic and ZERO help in the SERPs from a DMOZ listing. Whether or not you're listed, it's exactly the same result!

I heard that you need to have a very professional site and also you increase your possibilities if it doesn't have a commercial nature (so it will help if you are a charity, an educational site or a non-for-profit organization).

So I think is better if you just look elsewhere for traffic.
