Users moved over to social media and Reddit. Very sad to see indeed, but I think it's only a question of time before it's closed down. There's only a few active forums on the Internet now and their days are counted as well.
I think it's out of our power honestly and not even the mods can save it if there isn't a big change. The site still does have traffic though and with the right actions the slow and steady decline can be changed.
I guess everyone moved on to reddit. Which is weird, BHW managed to stay alive but almost all other related forums seem to be dead now
All forums right across the board are dying a slow death. Oddly enough penpal sites are seeing a huge dramatic increase in traffic, with thousands of young teenagers and preteens joining daily. I was viewing one of those sites the other day, that has over 280,000 members worldwide.
Carbon neutral websites, or some climate friendly threads, whale watching. Maybe crypto, metals, or similar. Just a thought.
Perhaps, the new “forums” tabs on google search will eventually boast the activity of forums back up.
