why didn't the Jewish people convert in old days, if they would have converted, it would have been so much better for them. they have been prosecuted throughout history, From that you learn that it's time for a new religion. so I blame it on themselves for being prosecuted, I mean come on it's all BS, there is no god. And on top of that ur being prosecuted for your religion. European jews should have converted to Christianity, and middle Eastern to Islam.
No body should convert because of people we should convert to the truth when we find it even if people are against it.
This is one of the most idiotic posts/threads I have seen on DP. Everyone should be free to practice or not practice any religion they choose - period. Judaism is your religion, not your nationality.
yes people should free to practice any religion they want, but if you look at throughout Europe during the last 1000 years, there was always anti-Semitism, and Jewish people were mistreated,so you would think that they would convert.
If you look at the world since forever you will see that all sorts of people are persecuted for all sorts of reasons. You would think we would all have given up being people long ago to avoid such things.
The 3 major religions had all been slaved and persecuted one way or another. And why would a Jewish convert when they started the whole thing in the first place. 1.Jew (Moses?) 2.Christians (Jesus) 3.Moslem (Muhammad) 4.Democrat (Obama)
Judaism is religion. The Jewish people or the Jewish nation is a people/nation. I have a Jewish nationality, and my religion is Judaism. Why? cause this is the education I got. I was raised up in secular-traditional Jewish and Zionist home. My ancestors keep their Judaism during 2000 years of living in exile, now it's far way easier for me to keep my Judaism, while living in a Jewish state. This is what my ancestors fought for, and I am not going to break this.
oh yeah, here's a good guess on why they didn't convert: All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers. And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no. And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live. Deuteronomy 8:1-3 (King James Version)
You can appease those who threaten you by giving in - but what kind of person are you when you do that? I think we could appease many Islamic extremist groups if we all just converted to Islam. Should we all do that too? We probably could have appeased the Nazis by just letting them have a couple of countries and sending them our Jews to kill, should we have done that? Is there any principal that you would stand up for? Would you just capitulate on everything because some other ignorant fool didn't like you? When someone persecutes you and says we will leave you alone just give us your wife, would you do that too?
