to make you come and visit it man lol , just kidding , but first website i have ever made was about my services trying to help ppl to figure out stuff about computers , just for fun TvDomain
I built my first web site in 1996 when a trucking company I was employed by told me "here's $5000 go buy a decent computer and get this company a web site. Give us a presentation in a months time how it all works". I had it all done in the first week and spent the next three weeks in chat rooms
My first try was a Diaryland page, a way to share my thoughts feeling alone That project evolved into my first website, with less written thoughts and more graphics and photo sharing, a site that does not longer exist. Curiously the Diaryland project is still online, even though not updated for six years or so.
I had many attempts at building websites in the first few years of being on the internet which turned out to just be personal pages really. Then a couple of years ago i created a website mainly for my own use to keep up to date on what was happening in the satellite industry, Shortly after setting it up a got a swarm of users finding my sites and wanting to become members so i setup a membership based forum, This then grew and grew into what it is now and have a healthy income margin I then decided to think up other idea's and go full time into developing websites so make myself an income that i could live on, Which now i have sucessfully done.
my first site was when i was 12 (8 years ago), it was a skateboarding website, i wrote the html in notepad which i taught myself. i was cool! i made it because i loved skateboarding.
I made my first site when I was 12. It was hosted on Freewebs but it wasn't one of them premade ones. I made it in notepad using the HTML I had taught myself. It was the simplest site you could think of, a plain one column layout with a border. I edited all the text etc so it was a cool size. I made it as a way to tell people who would come and read how I felt, and not have to say anything to my mum or dad.
I was making my website for my little business. I went searching for logo designers started a couple of competition things, never read the forum. I came back about 2 months later to get a template done when i stumbled across adsence and all that. I was first a member at Namepros.com I think I now have plans for a million and one directories (start em up, submit 500 directories, give them a PR, sell the site, repeat) I am trying to now make my first website with minimal HTML knowledge but the most expecive programs on the market photoshop and dreamweaver they both burn a hole in your pocket. ive made about 300USD so far and probbaly have put that all back into the websites.
Umm I think it was '96 or '97 when I was MUDding. I got bored one night while regenning and decided to make a personal website on my internet host since I got free web space on it. I don't even remember much more than having someone at work help me scan in pictures of my son so I could upload them, and that I got the backgrounds off one of the many free sites that were around at the time. I might even have a copy of that site somewhere, or at least a good portion of the graphics. Or else my ex-bf got them on the computer he kept when we broke up.
My first website was one on the Welsh rock band the Manic Street Preachers and I created it because I loved the band. Money wasn't an issue back then. How thing's have changed!
