Why did my site go into Google rank freefall?

    I have a website about 40 pages of unique original content...for some reason
    it has disappeared off Google.

    1 week after submission to Google, it got ranked in 8th place...it stayed there from 3 weeks.

    Now the site is not even in the top twenty for my keyword search terms.

    Any ideas on what might have happened?

    Google does that, you should have ''dripped'' your content there over time.

    Just keep adding content and getting backlinks!

    New sites will always rank high in Google, and after a couple of weeks they'll go to their normal position
